Tiger Beret

NO REFUND WILL BE MADE.** **ABOUT THE PATTERN** The Tiger Beret is worked in the round in stockinette stitch using circular needles. Start with the crown by increasing, then knit the body while decreasing. The beret is knitted with two strands of yarn held together to create a marled effect. It is not recommended to knit it in a very dark color, as the final seam will be more difficult to complete. This pattern is suitable for intermediate knitters. **SIZES** One Size. 54-59 cm Crown from side to side: 23 cm Head opening from side to side: 15 cm **YARNS AND MATERIALS** Approx 100 g of Alpachino Merino from Wool and The Gang (60% Merino Wool, 40% Baby Alpaca, 100 g = 100 m) Color Lilac Punch N°314 Approx 50 g of Merino essentiel 4 tweed from DMC (50% Merino Wool, 50% Polyamid, 50 g = 165 m) Color Dark Brown N°901 NOTE: To knit the marled beret as shown in the photos, you will need a total of 150 g of yarn (i.e., 1 skein of each of the two yarns mentioned above). To knit it in a single color, you will need 118 g of the yarn of your choice. Circular needles 6 mm (US10 / UK4) [ 80 cm ] and/or double pointed needles 6 mm (US10 / UK4) NOTE: If you have 6 mm double-pointed needles, you can use them to knit the crown of the beret. I didn’t have any, so I used 6 mm circular needles [80 cm]. At the beginning, the cable is a bit long, so if you have a shorter cable, you can start your project with that and switch partway through. Tapestry needle **GAUGE** 11.5 sts x 13.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm, in stockinette stitch, on needle size 6 mm (US10 / UK4). Make a swatch to achieve the same gauge as indicated above. Needle size is only a guide. If you get too many stitches on 10 cm = 4”, change to a larger needle size. If you get too few stitches on 10 cm = 4”, change to a smaller needle size.
