Static Mittens

Alternating colours every stitch, the Static Mittens use both sides of the fabric to create a striped illusion pattern. Knitted using the stranded colourwork technique, the mittens are knitted flat and seamed down one side due to the way the yarns are twisted. With step-by-step, easy-to-follow instructions this pattern uses the following techniques: Long tail cast on, knit, purl, increasing, decreasing, stranded colourwork, picking stitches up and invisible seaming. **Skill Level:** Intermediate **Size:** One Size: Length from wrist cuff to fingertips = 28cm/11'' Circumference around fingers = 20cm/8'' Circumference around wrist = 17cm/7'' flat and up to 27cm/10.5'' stretched **Yarn:** Any DK weight yarn in 2 colours, you need approx 50g/120m per colour. We have used: 1 skein of Lang Yarns Merino 120 in colour 0380 - 100% Merino Wool. (120m/131yds per 50g skein.) + 1 skein of Laxtons Sheepsoft DK in Airedale - 100% British wool.
