Tove Rib Skirt

Tove Rib Skirt is a long skirt in rib knit with increases that gradually widens it. The design was created as part of the Isager Archives collection and is a reinterpretation of models from the 60s and 70s archives. The skirt is worked top-down. First, a stockinette stitch edge is knitted. It is folded over and knitted together. A waist elastic is inserted into the casing. Short rows are worked to add length at the back. After the short rows, turn one last time, to work the rest of the skirt from the wrong side. This is done to work fewer purl stitches. After a piece in 1x1 rib, first increase with one stitch in the rib repeat and later with another stitch, so that the final rib repeat becomes * k, p3 *, seen from the right side. When the skirt has reached its final length, bind-off in purl. The pattern indicates yarn consumption in two different lengths, the short one to just below the knee, the long one to low calf.
