**Please use code - summer for 20% off for all my patterns (code works to August 11)** **Chichi top** is a basic summer top. It’s designed with a V-neck, wide straps (perfect for covering bra straps) and decorative decreases along the armholes and neckline. This top doesn’t require any finishing, so as you join shoulders you are done with your top. Choose your favorite summer yarn in light or bright solid colors so the decorative decreases will be visible. Chichi top is great for in-city or vacay summer outfits. It pairs perfectly with skirts or linen pants and shorts. *Vest version for this design available here - [Chichi Vest][1]* Chichi top is worked bottom up and seamlessly. At first, you work body in the round to underarms. Then divide for back and front and work yokes flat separately. Shape armholes and V-neck with decorative double decreases and simultaneously working i-cord edges. Once V-neck shaping is done, shoulders are joined together using Three needles bind off method. **Sizes** XS (S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL) **Finished measurements** Bust circumferences – 76 (82, 90, 98, 106, 116, 124) cm / 30.0 (32.25, 35.5, 38.5, 41.75, 45.75, 48.75)’’; Intended to be worn with negative ease (1 – 10 cm/ 0.5 – 4’’) already included in the bust circumference; Armhole depth – 21 (22, 22, 23, 24, 24, 25) cm / 8.25 (8.75, 8.75, 9.0, 9.5, 9.5, 10.0); Body length (from underarm to hem) – 28 cm/ 11 .0’’; Length of the body can be easily adjusted to desired length. Samples shown on 87 cm / 34.25’’ bust, size S with 5 cm/ 2’’ of negative ease. **Needles** Circular needles 4 mm (US 6) 80-100 cm (32-40)’’ long; Dpns 4 mm (US 6) for Three needles bind-off. Notions: tapestry needle, cable needle, 2 stitch markers, scrap yarn or stitch holders. **Original yarn** Approx 5 (5, 6, 6, 7, 8, 8) balls / 250 (250, 300, 300, 350, 400, 400) g of Iskiya Yarna (100% cotton; 50g /1.8oz - 200 m / 219 yds) worked held double; If you decide to make the top longer, you will need more yarn than estimated. **Suggested yarn**: Fingering weight yarn held double, heavy dk or light worsted weight yarn worked single stranded to obtain the required gauge. **Yardage**: approx 900 (980, 1080, 1200, 1320, 1450, 1590) m / 984 (1072, 1181, 1312, 1444, 1586, 1739) yds of similar fingering weight yarn held double; approx 450 (490, 540, 600, 660, 725, 795) m / 492 (536, 591, 656, 722, 793, 869) yds of heavy dk or light worsted weight yarn worked single stranded. **Gauge** 20 sts x 26 rnds = 10cm (4’’) in St st in the rnd and back and forth in rows after blocking. Take time to check your gauge before starting your project. If you can’t obtain gauge in stitches and in rows/rnds at the same time – it’s more important to obtain stitch gauge and the row gauge (length) can be adjusted according to the measurements in cm/inches. **Techniques used**: Long tail cast on, knitting in the round and flat, right and left leaning double decreases (video included), C4F cable, Three needle bind off, i-cord bind off (optionally).
