Queen Anne's Lace Socks

The Queen Anne's Lace Socks were inspired by one of my favorite Summer flowers, a delicate flower full of tiny white blooms that form an umbrella or cup shape. You can find them on the roadsides, along hiking paths, or in the margins of the fields, cheerfully bobbing in the wind. The arched lace eyelets worked in the motif, are reminiscent of the bow of tiny blossoms in the flower. The construction is top down, with a slight roll to the top of the cuff and a simple lace motif that runs down the front of the leg. Last, the heel construction is worked in the German Shortrow method. Needles-US 0 & 1 (2 & 2.25 mm) DPNs or 24”/60 cm long circulars for magic loop method. Notions-Tapestry needle, tape measure, stitch markers Gauge-(Stockinette): 17.5 STS/2”-17.5 STS/5 cm on larger sized needles (blocked) Yarn-Fingering (4 ply) to light fingering weight yarn 295-420 yds/270-384 m They are sized Adult Small, Medium & Large. My sample is knitted in Cascade 220 fingering.
