Skovbund Shawl

*The shawl and name Skovbund (forest floor in Danish) was inspired by walks in the forest on a spring day. If you look closely at the forest floor you will notice the little flowers, buds and vines making their way through the dry leaves.* **Construction** The Skovbund Shawl is worked bottom up while decreasing along the edges and center to create a triangular shape. The border has a 2x2 ribbing followed by a row of eyelets, then a section of flowers, leaves and flowers again before a nice and relaxing sea of garter stitch. **Yarn & Yardage** Yarn - 2 strands held together 1 strand of: Knitting for Olive Merino colorway Bark 250 m / 273 yds per 50 gr / 1.76 oz Sample used: 4 balls (200g) 1 strand of: Knitting for Olive Mohair Silk colorway Bark 225 m / 246 yds per 25 gr / 0.88 oz Sample used: 4 balls (100 g) **Gauge** 21 sts x 30 rows = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4” in st st on 3,5 mm / US4 (after blocking) **Needle size** 3,5 mm / US4 2,5 mm / US1.5 needles or smaller (to work the lateral braid) Crochet hook the same size as your main needle or smaller **Final Measurements (after blocking)** Wingspan: 180 cm / 71” (measured straight, the ends curl a bit upwards) Spine: 65 cm / 25.5” **Materials** Stitch markers Tapestry needle
