I am sure many other knitters feel the same way. A hood is one such interesting accessory that provides a soft and warm covering for most of the head and the neck. It can be a versatile fashion alternative to wearing a hat during the cold seasons for all age groups. *"Matte Hood" is a hip accessory designed to be a reasonably quick, fun, and enjoyable knit. Cowl circumference (bottom): 21.5 (23, 25.5, 26.5, 28.5)" / 53.5 (57.5, 63.5, 66, 71) cm. **YARN REQUIREMENTS** 251 (297, 344, 370, 409) yards / 230 (272, 315, 339, 374) m of worsted weight yarn. **YARN USED IN SAMPLE** 2 skeins of Malabrigo Worsted, 100% Merino Wool 210 yards / 192 m per 100g / 3.5 oz in Burgundy colorway. **NEEDLES USED** 4.5 mm / US 7 circular needles, minimum length 24"/ 60 cm for working flat. **GAUGE** 21 sts x 36 rows = 4" / 10 cm, in Matte stitch, blocked. **NOTIONS** Tapestry needle.
