The pattern is written with magic loop in mind, but can be adapted to work with DPNs or short circular needles. **Gauge:** 24 sts per 10cm in stockinette for the DK weight version (see sizing section for information on adjusting size with gauge modifications). Row gauge is less important as each section is knitted to you desired length. **Yarn:** 220m DK weight sock yarn should be sufficient for most adult female sizes. Extra may be required for larger shoe sizes (over an EU 40) or a longer leg length. The sample uses Sandnes Garn Perfect in shade 2650. This is a sock yarn with nylon, which is ideal, but the thickness of the socks means you may get away with using a 100% wool yarn. Another good option is using a regular fingering weight sock yarn held double.
