Enid

The Enid socks were designed for Scarefest 26 as friends to Scarefest 25's Wednesday socks. The heels of both socks have similar appearance but they are worked differently. Enid is worked toe-up, a special cast on is suggested. Th sole is prolonged with respect to the instep as required for the stripy heel, whihc is an alternative approach to shortening the instep used in Wednesday and the Three in one socks. For adventurous knitters the intarsia type text ENID to one sock and an optional ALPHA to the other sock is added. It is worked in bidirectional knitting method instead of intarsia in the round. Technique is explained. Text was chosen because by following the text it is easier to learn the technique than with a regular stranded pattern. Use the needles and the number of stitches as you regularly use for vanilla socks. Enjoy knitting and wearing as much as I have enjoyed putting things together for this pattern.
