Kitty Balaclava

This pattern is for cat lovers who like to dress up their fuzzy friends! I designed this pattern for my sweet Yoko, who has been discovering the joy of walks. As the weather gets colder, this cat hat will keep small ears toasty warm for exploring the fall leaves and winter snow. The balaclava also makes a wonderful addition to plushies, dolls, and more! The pattern begins with the ribbing around the face, then modularly, working the ears and back of head individually, then picking up stitches for the sides of the head, and finishing with the ribbed collar. The design is intended for cats, but can be modified for small pets with longer necks and faces by extending either or both ribbing sections. This pattern is intended to be knit with DK yarn. One sample was knit with one strand of DK yarn in Squiggle yarn co's color soulmates, and another sample was knit with scrap yarn by holding a fingering weight with a strand of silk mohair to achieve gauge.
