Beachcomber is a completely reversible oversized shawl full of fun shaping, garter stitch stripes and striking lace. Worked diagonally from tip to tip, the multicolored garter stitch sections alternate with bands of lace and are finished off with a fluttery picot bind-off, resulting in a delightfully squishy, colorful and lightweight shawl! The large, asymmetrical shape can be worn a multitude of ways and the breathable cotton/linen blend makes this shawl a striking and dramatic summer accessory. MEASUREMENTS: * blocked: 105”, measured across top edge * blocked: 20” deep MATERIALS: Knit Pick’s Cotlin (70% Tanguis cotton, 30% linen; 123 yards/50g) *Conch (MC):* 3 balls or approx. 250 yrds *Surf (CC1):* 2 balls or approx. 150 yrds *Linen (CC2):* 3 balls or approx. 250 yrds NOTES: The entirety of this shawl is shaped by a 2 row repeat. The first row increases along one side and decreases along the other. The second row increases only on the one side, gradually growing the shawl by 1 st every 2 rows. This two row repeat continues for the entire shawl. Because of the repetitive nature of this shawl, the directions are divided up into three sections, each ending with the lace portions, to help you keep track of where you are in the pattern. The total stitch count is given at the beginning of each lace pattern section. Although the specific stitch count does not matter for the entirety of the shawl, including the picot bind-off, row 1 of the lace section must begin with a even number of stitches.
