Recollection Wrap

The Recollection Wrap has been a long time in the making! For some time now I have wanted to design a wrap / cozy oversized shawl that would incorporate many of my favorite colors and lend itself to my entire wardrobe effortlessly... I wanted something that could become an "old faithful" of sorts - that would just * work * with any outfit. For this design, I selected a variety of colors that complement each other with varying degrees of contrast (some with very subtle contrast and some with more dramatic contrast) making for a playful FO. Recollection Wrap is worked in an Interrupted Garter Stitch 4-Row pattern throughout, transitioning from one stripe to the next with flowing color overlap. > Sign up for our [newsletter][1] to receive notification of new pattern releases, special offers and exclusive promotions! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - **Pattern Construction** Recollection Wrap is a "kite construction" oversized shawl, that begins with the cast-on of just a handful of stitches. Strategically placed increases and decreases create this unique shape as the shawl grows. *This is an advanced beginner level pattern.* **Finished Size** Approximately 74" / 185 cm wingspan (measured straight, not including the curve) x 24" / 60 cm center drop, post blocking, when oriented for wearing. A Color Orientation Guide & Schematic, as well as a "Coloring Sheet" are included in the pattern to assist in planning out your color orientation. **Suggested Needles & Notions** Needle size listed is a suggestion; use a size that will result in correct gauge after blocking. • US 7 / 4.5 mm, 40” / 100 cm circular needle • Removeable marker to denote RS of work • Stitch marker (for center double decrease) • Darning needle • Scissors • Blocking mat & pins **Gauge Information – Post Blocking** 18 sts / 40 rows per 4” / 10 cm worked flat on US 7 / 4.5 mm needles in “Interrupted Garter Stitch” pattern as noted below. **Interrupted Garter Stitch (4 Row) pattern:** Row 1: knit / Row 2: purl Row 3: knit / Row 4: knit **Materials / Suggested Yarn** The Farmer's Daughter Fibers - [Recollect and/or Reminisce Sport][1] - 100% Non-Superwash Rambouillet, 185 yards / 169 meters per 2 oz. The sample reflects a total of seven colorways used; however, a Color Orientation Guide & Schematic are provided on page 10, with approximate yarn usage per stripe included. This will allow you to use more or less colors if you would like. **Yarn Requirements** • Color 1: 178 yards / 162 meters • Color 2: 133 yards / 122 meters • Color 3: 181 yards / 166 meters • Color 4: 296 yards / 271 meters • Color 5: 181 yards / 166 meters • Color 6: 163 yards / 159 meters • Color 7: 167 yards / 152 meters *Sample reflects The Farmer's Daughter Fibers “[Recollect Sport][2]” in colorways: J. Rankin, I've got dreams to remember, Porch pumpkin, Dumplin', Teton, Sunny's, York* This pattern was designed for Sport weight yarn; however, it can also be worked in a heavy Fingering weight or a light DK. The size will change depending on the yarn weight, as will the yardage. Please be sure to plan for additional yardage, per color, should you decide to work in DK weight.
