It is one complete pattern that doesn’t have any special stitches so is very suitable for mosaic beginners. Knowledge of basic crochet stitches is all that is needed. The pattern includes general instructions on mosaic overlay techniques and chart reading. It is available in both US and UK terminology. The pattern contains written instructions as well as several charts(with Xs). The chart is broken into sections suitable for printing and there is a complete chart for the whole pattern for use on a tablet. The pictured blanket used approx. 1850 metres (2023 yds) for the background (colour A), 1280 metres (1400 yds) for the pattern (colour B) and 244 metres (267 yds) for the border. It measures 113 x 146cm (44 ½ x 57 ½ ”). Bendigo Woollen Mills Classic DK was used in the top pictured sample. It is 193 sts x 231 rows. Any yarn can be used for this pattern. Use the recommended hook for the yarn. Size may change depending on yarn, hook size and tension. When choosing yarn, it is important to choose contrasting colours so the design can be seen, such as light and dark tones.
