Oddments Cowl

A sign of abundance. A kind of decadence. And when you can use up those leftovers in the creation of something new, it’s a wonderful feeling. The Oddments Cowl is a lovely, cosy accessory to enjoy as the weather starts to turn. When you need something soft to snuggle into, it’s a great piece to layer under a coat or a jacket. This is one of those projects that looks impressive and complex, but is deceptively simple to knit. It’s also a very potato-chippy pattern, with wide, colourful stripes of easy-to-memorise lace. I’ve designed this cowl to use up leftovers, but I can see it being stunning in a candy stripe of two or three colourways, a gradient, or even a single lovely shade, to show off the lace. Use as many colours and repeats as you like to make it your own. **Finished Measurements** Approximately Circumference 24” (61cm) Width 17” (44cm) Yarn Fingering weight yarn [80m/87yds per 20g mini skein], 6 x 20g mini skeins Sample used a total of approximately 100g (400m/440yds) of fingering weight yarn in 6 different colours. **Needles** 3.5mm (US 4), 100cm (40”) long circular needles (or size to obtain gauge) **Notions** Tapestry needle 1 Stitch Marker **Gauge** 25 sts/32 rows = 10cm (4”) in stockinette stitch after blocking Exact gauge is not critical but may affect the amount of yarn needed if different.
