All the while I was making this adorable bear I kept saying to myself, “What a good bear.” It had to become the name of the pattern, Good Bear. I hope you think it is a good bear, too. **How to make your printed Good Bear pattern book:** 1. Print out all of the pages single-sided. 2. Fold each page on the center dotted line with the blank side of the page to the inside and the printed side to the outside. 3. Put the pages in order with the folded edge to the right. 4. Staple the pages together along the left side with three staples, one on each end and one in the center. **Finished Measurement** The Bear is 8-inches tall from the toe to the top of the head. **Needles** Bear: US size 4/3.5mm double-pointed needles Pants: US size 3/3.25mm double-pointed needles for the waistband; US size 5/3.75mm double-pointed needles for the pants Colorwork Pullover, Jacket, and Beanie: US size 5/3.75mm double-pointed needles For the Jacket only I also used a US size 5/3.75mm, 24-inch circular needle to work back and forth. For all of the suggested needle sizes always check your gauge and use the sizes to obtain the correct gauge. **Gauge** US size 4/3.5mm - 6.5 stitches per inch in stockinette stitch US size 5/3.75mm - 6 stitches per inch in stockinette stitch For the waistband of the Pants, use needles that are two sizes smaller than the size used for the body of the pants. **Yarn** Woolens by Barrett Wool Co., 100% American Wool (180 / 50 grams); 1 skein each in the necessary colorways. **Woolens colorways and amounts for the Brown Good Bear:** Bear Main Color: Earthen (under 20 grams used). Nose Contrast Color: Toast (under 1 gram used). Colorwork Pullover: Main Color is Toast. Contrast Colors are Earthen and Door County - less than 1 yard used for each of these. (The finished pullover weighs 8.4 grams in total). Pants: Cove (The finished pants weigh 7.4 grams). Jacket: Terrarium (the finished Jacket WITH three buttons weighs 13.4 grams) Beanie: Garland (forest green) or Wells (medium grey) (3 grams used) **Woolens colorways and amounts for Black Good Bear:** Bear Main Color: Inkwell (under 20 grams used). Nose Contrast Color: Putty (under 1 gram used). Colorwork Pullover: Main Color is Putty. Contrast Colors are Inkwell and Door County - less than 1 yard used for each of these. (The finished pullover weighs 8.4 grams in total). Pants: Cove (The finished pants weigh 7.4 grams). Jacket: Old Fashioned (the finished Jacket WITH three buttons weighs 13.4 grams) Beanie: Garland (forest green) or Wells (medium grey) (3 grams used) **Materials** Extra set of double-pointed needles in US size 4/3.5mm. This is optional as you can use the US 5/3.75mm or US 3/3.25 needles if you don’t have an extra set of US 4/3.5mm needles.
