Aglaisio

The pattern and yarn were exclusive to our members for one year after its publication. Lace patterns look so pretty – but you need to concentrate while working them, and an entire piece in a lace pattern sometimes does not serve its purpose: Knitted items are usually supposed warm their wearer, and too many holes may be a tad counterproductive in that regard. “Aglaisio” (from the Latin name of the Peacock Butterfly, “Aglais Io”) is a warming cowl in a beautiful hand dyed yarn with a panel that requires a manageable amount of lace knitting. The cowl is worked seamlessly in two triangles with a narrow rectangle of lace in between. Only one skein (100 g) of fingering weight yarn will suffice to make Aglaisio. Lochmuster sehen toll aus – aber sie erfordern viel Aufmerk- samkeit, und ein ganzes Stück aus Lochmuster erfüllt manchmal nicht den gedachten Zweck. Denn Gestricktes soll idealerweise wärmen – zu viele Löcher sind da nicht immer hilfreich. Aglaisio (von „Aglais Io“, der lateinische Name für „Pfauenauge“) ist ein wärmender Cowl aus einem wunderschönen handgefärbten Garn mit einem Lochmustereinsatz, der überschaubar zu stricken ist, aber einen tollen Effekt hat. Gestrickt wird der Cowl nahtlos in zwei Dreiecken, die durch ein paar Reihen des Lacemusters verbunden sind. 100 g Garn in Sockenwollstärke reichen aus, um Aglaisio zu stricken.
