Triceratops Cowl

This pattern is a collaboration with Maggie, the indie dyer behind Yarnaceous Fibers. I wanted to do something fun, inspired by my daughter’s love of dinosaurs. The cream color, called Triceratops, brought this pattern to life, paired with a beautiful warm neutral in the Gemstone collection. The Triceratops Cowl is a stranded colorwork pattern for a basic cowl. Knit using **2 skeins of DK weight yarn**, this pattern lends itself to using solids or solid/variegated combinations of colorways. It is knit in the round using circular needles, from the bottom up. Corrugated ribbing frames the top and bottom edges. **Special Techniques** Stranded colorwork in the round, reading charts, catching long floats, and corrugated ribbing. **Size** One size **Finished Measurements** 12.5 in height x 13 in width (32 x 33 cm) 26 in (66 cm) circumference **Suggested Yarns** Yarnaceous Fibers –Bronto DK Colors: Axinite (taupe), Triceratops (cream) 85% SuperwashMerino Wool, 15% Nylon 100 g / 3.5 oz. 246 yards (225 m) **Approx. Yardage Required** 240 yards (219 m) in MC (background) 180 yards (164 m) in CC (colorwork) NOTE: If swapping traditional ribbing for the corrugated ribbing, increase amount of MC req. **Suggested Needles** 24 in (60 cm) circular needles US 5/3.75mm or size needed to obtain gauge NOTE: Sample is knit with same needle for colorwork and ribbing, however, feel free to go down a size for ribbing, if you prefer. **Notions** (3) Stitch markers (1 in accent color for BOR), scissors, tapestry needle **Gauge** 24 sts and 28 rows per 4in (10cm) Gauge is in colorwork after blocking Please share in progress and final photos using @pnw_knitdesign and #triceratopscowl.
