The growth, the shifting hues from fresh green to warm yellow to bright red. And at last, a caramel brown, just before falling to the ground, where they decompose. Giving their nutrients back to the soil and to the little creatures, fungi, lichen and mosses below. All in Nature is cyclical, it just goes on forever.
