Crystalline Mosaic Collection

These instructions will teach you 4 different crystalline mosaic types and 5 extra variants of them, all in 35 page pdf tutorial that has written instructions, charts and process photos. It is worked in overlay crochet technique with two contrasting colours. Working in 2 rows in each colour means there's no loose ends to tidy up. Overlay stitches are made in front loops, so there is no chains behind them. The charts are very visual and easy to read without the need for any extra calculations - where each stitch looks like itself (apart from sc that is marked by square) You will need yarn of the same weight in 2 contrasting colours and the hook sized to your yarn. Colour changing yar n would work great with any of these patterns. These patterns would make a very pretty blanket by just following the instructions with your preferred size in mind. I also included a printer friendly version that has almost no images with just the necessary charts and written text, however refer to the full version if anything is unclear in it. Please note that the blanket created with this pattern was a result of me destashing my vast collection of nearly every colour of hobbii rainbow cotton 8-4 (apart from dark greens, dark reds, browns and grays) where I paired darker and lighter shades of the same colour, changing it in the order of the rainbow, only starting with purple and ending in blue, instead of from red to purple. I do not have the exact numbers, most of the colours I had left at a time didn't have the labels on them anymore. For each shade I used one skein of light and dark/saturated colour version. This pattern teaches you how to create crystalline mosaic designed to avoid cutting the yarn after each row and having to tie the loose ends (like in overlay mosaic), and avoiding loose chains (like in interlocking mosaic). Not the colour palette, but this innovative crochet technique.
