This impactful granny stitch cowl is made to look like a shawl. Brilliant for those who get annoyed with their scarf unravelling all the time! It makes a great stash-buster too. To bring the most ubiquitous of crochet stitches up to date a linen stitch edging has been added, giving it a modern twist. This pattern is suitable for beginners. A chart is included. **Materials:** Double Knit weight yarn. Pattern used Folkestone Harbour Yarns, 100% Kent Romney wool, 100g/300m. 1x100g skein Cochineal Pink (Yarn A), five x 20g minis in Indigo Light Blue 26 (Yarn B), Turmeric Bright Yellow 45 (Yarn C), Madder & Turmeric Orange (Yarn D), Madder & Cochineal Lightest Pink (Yarn E), Cochineal Pastel Pink (Yarn F). 4.5 mm (UK 7, US 7) 5mm (UK 6, US H/8) **Tension:** 8 rows/ 5clu of granny stitch = 10cm **Abbreviations:** st(s) = stitch(es) sp(s) = space(s) ch = chain ch-sp = chain space clu = cluster sl st = slip stitch dc = double crochet (US single crochet) tr = treble (US double crochet) rep = repeat beg = beginning **Finished size:** From top to tip: 62cm (24 inches). Circumference: 68cm (27 inches). **Notes:** -Made in one piece from the top down. Starting off as a triangle, the sides are then squared off. Those two sides are sewn together to create the cowl. -Note, the ch3 at the beginning of the rows counts as 1tr. -The border is worked in a larger size hook to create a better drape. -The DK used here is quite fine, try working your cowl in a sport weight yarn or plump 4ply -The pattern is written in UK terms with US terms included in the list of abbreviations and the chart.
