It was designed specifically for **complex multicolor yarns**, giving the colors enough space to show themselves without becoming too busy. The diamond shapes and the single crochet ridges separate and organize the colors into **little color areas**, creating a different multicolor palette within each diamond and a flowing wave of color along each ridge. I treated the skeins **like paints**, without overthinking my color choices and letting them create their own magic. ◍⁠•⁠ᴗ⁠•⁠◍ The pattern includes instructions for both: - working in the round (for a cowl) - and working in flat rows (for any rectangular project). Note that in this case, your yardage requirements and finished dimensions will change. **STITCH PATTERN** The stitch pattern uses basic crochet stitches: single crochet stitches are worked in the back loop to form ribbed ridges, and stitches of varying height (sc, hdc, dc, etc.) for the diamond-shaped inserts. *I create new crochet stitches to show a quieter, softer side of crochet: calm, simple, and casual. My patterns may look unusual at first only because the technique is new to you, just like your first chain or single crochet once was.
