Arches Baby Blanket

A sweet little baby blanket designed for a precious new baby. The Arches Baby Blanket knitting pattern also includes a pattern for a simple baby hat and mittens. I am not a pattern designer. I simply enjoy playing around with stitches and seeing what happens. If you spot a mistake or have a question please send me a message. The blanket at 85cm x 73cm (after blocking) is sized to fit a crib, moses basket, carrycot, pram or stroller. The hat and mittens will fit an average baby up to about 3 months. Things you may like to know before downloading the pattern. This pattern is written in a line by line format. Skills needed are cast on and bind off, the knit stitch, the purl stitch, pass slip stitch over, slip slip knit, knit 2 together, yarn overs and yarn round needle. The blanket is knit in a single piece. Pattern repeat is 16 stitches and 16 rows. The hat and mittens can be knit flat or in the round. There are 3 download versions available all are the same pattern but with differing numbers of pictures/file sizes The pattern is easy to adapt for different sizes by adding or subtracting stitches and pattern repeats, or for a quicker knit use aran weight yarn. These changes will affect the amount of yarn required. Pattern updated October 2019. Now for the the boring bit.
