Twisted Witch Hat

Create this amazing textural twisty twirly hat and get enchanting! The fabric created stands on its own. Just the tippy tip has some stuffing to enhance that curly! The brim? Floppy but stands as made. BUT the pattern shows you how I used liquid starch (in any grocery store laundry detergent section) to give it even more firmness! No wires are used, the yarn is held double strand for the entire project and tight stitching is used to create shape and body. Most Bulky/5 weight yarns can be subbed in, but check gauge to determine. It requires 475 yards for a child and 550 for an adult. I made a sample using Red Heart Super Saver AND Lion Brand Mandala Sparkle and each worked well as long as gauge is met. Child fits a head about 18-19" Teen/Adult: 20-21" Change hooks at the point noted to go a hair larger to a fit a 22" head. **NEW! I have done a FREE add-on for the Mushroom version of the hat.
