**A hood with attached cowl in two-color Brioche.**
Say goodbye to hat hair with this hoodie cowl that's as practical as it's stylish.
The hood is knit from the top down, starting with a rectangle from which stitches are picked up at two sides. For a better fit, shaping is worked at the center back and the front edges. At the back of the neck, the hood stitches are split in half, and each half is continued as part of the cowl. The shaping is continued into the cowl for added visual interest and to reduce bulk. The halves of the cowl are bound off and seamed to close the loop.
I-cord borders are added along the edges.
No separate gauge swatch needed. You can knit the crown rectangle (Section 1) as your swatch.
Use DK-weight yarn in two colors with a medium to high contrast. I recommend using (semi-)solids or a combination of a (semi-)solid and a multicolored yarn, with the lighter color as A and the darker as B. Using a natural yarn (non-superwash) helps the hood keep its shape while wearing.
