----------------------------------------------
The “birds” pattern is pretty from both sides, so it can be worn from either side.
The piece starts with 3 stitches, and increases are worked up to its desired width, followed by a center section with parallel edges, and finally a shawl tip with decreases on the opposite side.
The pattern also describes a **triangle version** which starts the same way - you simply never stop increasing. This version will probabyly need more yarn.
**Needles:** Main needle size is **3,25mm**; 3,0mm needles for the setup rows and the very last rows.
**Gauge:** 24 sts x 48 rows = 10cm in “Birds” pattern. But gauge is not important - continue increases or stop earlier to reach your desired width.
**Yarn:** Approx. 540 - 600m main color MC (= the background color) + 360 - 400m contrast color CC of a Fingering weight yarn for the given measurements.
For my sample, I have used Zauberwiese Sockenwolle Handgefärbt 75/25 (75% wool, 25% nylon, 425m/ 100g).
For my 2nd sample, the one in triangle shape, I have used a [Brushed Alpaca Lace yarn][1] with 450m/ 50g as background color, which creates a fabric which is the slightest bit transparent.
