This easy scarf pattern is designed to allow you to use any yarn, needles and gauge! Increase to your desired width, knit to your desired length. It’s a basic recipe, just waiting for your perfect needles and yarn combo. All techniques are shown in my tutorial video!!
Yarn & Needles
The wicker stitch is by its nature a tight stitch, due to stitches that cross on both the right and wrong side of the work. Therefore, it’s very important to work wicker stitch loosely. I suggest choosing needles that are at least 2 sizes larger than what you might normally use for your yarn. For example, in my sample projects, I used fingering and sport weight yarns, and used US 8 (5mm) for both of them. I used lightweight yarn for a finer gauge, but wicker stitch looks equally good in thicker yarns with larger needles.
