Lace Wrist Warmers

Fingerless wrist warmers knitted in the round from the cuff up, with a lace panel, an open thumb and a ribbed top. One size. About the pattern Worked in the round from the cuff up, with a lace panel on the front of the hand and an open thumb. Left and right hands are written out separately, round by round, with stitch counts throughout. No chart. Skill level: you will need to be comfortable knitting in the round, working yarn overs and a centred double decrease (sk2po), and making increases for a thumb gusset. Yarn: DK weight, 150 m / 164 yds, which is 2 balls. The sample pair used 58 g (29 g each). Sample knitted in UK Alpaca Super Fine DK (70% superfine alpaca, 30% Bluefaced Leicester), 50 g / 112 m per ball, shade Wine (W/612). The wrist warmers in the photographs are earlier samples. Needles: 3.5 mm (US 4) and 4 mm (US 6) circular needles, 100 cm / 39.37 in long, for magic loop. Gauge: 22 sts and 33 rounds to 10 cm / 4 in over stocking stitch on 4 mm needles. Notions: 3 stitch markers (2 for the thumb gusset, 1 for the start of the round), tapestry needle. Finished measurements: Hand circumference 20 cm / 7.87 in unstretched. Length 21 cm / 8.27 in from cuff edge to top. 12.5 cm / 4.92 in from cuff edge to thumb hole.
