Sleep Study Participant is a cozy, top-down pullover, perfect for curling up in bed with a good cup of tea. It features a wide collar for extra warmth and a simple construction that makes it approachable even for beginner sweater knitters.
The sweater is knit seamlessly in the round from the top down, beginning with a ribbed collar. The back is shaped with short rows for a better fit, but they are completely optional and can be skipped if you prefer. Depending on your size, the yoke increases are worked over just three or four rounds. Other than that, it’s mostly straightforward knitting in the round. Easy, relaxing, and perfect for a cozy project.
Although this is a beginner-friendly pattern, there are a few basic techniques you should be comfortable with before starting:
- Casting on and joining to knit in the round
- Working in small circumferences (using your favorite technique)
- Knitting and purling
- Increasing (make one stitch left/right) and decreasing (ssk/k2tog)
- Place stitches on hold
- Short rows (optional)
