Fancy Floral Fall Leaf Coasters

Center single crochet (center sc): insert hook through center (post) of designated st, yo and draw up a loop, complete as you would a regular single crochet. *Tiny picot:* ch 1, sl st back into same ch *Back bar of sc:* look at the back of the stitch and locate the short bar that runs horizontal. Work all designated stitches for the round into this bar. This is a different location than the back loop! BLO = back loop only. st/sts = stitch/stitches sp/sps = space/spaces prev = previous sk = skip **Gauge:** Circle should measure 2 ¼” across after round 4. Gauge is not particularly important for this project though. **Measurements:** Approximately 5” wide by 5 ½“ tall including stem. **Additional Notes:** -ch-1 at beginning of round does not count as a stitch. -Unless otherwise indicated, round begins in same stitch as join. -Make your ch-2 and ch-3 sps somewhat tight. -In addition to a light worsted weight yarn, I used a small hook and moderately tight tension for this project. You can use other brands of yarn, but your leaf will probably be larger and stiffer and not look quite like mine. -If you want the flower petals around the center of the leaf to have more space between them make 2dc/2tr/2dtr clusters instead. -Stitch count totals are listed in parentheses ( ) at end of round.
