Mister Vest

The Mister Vest pattern takes its inspiration from the iconic Pon de Ring (ポン・デ・リング) from Mister Donut, a beloved dessert known for its unique shape. This versatile design is suitable for all seasons, as it can be layered over a shirt for fall and winter or worn alone during the warmer spring and summer months. The donut motifs at the bottom are paired with a scalloped edge to create an eye-catching look. To maintain a light and airy feel, the pattern features a boat-neck instead of standard ribbing, while tiny dots around the neckline—representing donut "crisps"—provide a balanced aesthetic. The construction of the vest follows a bottom-up approach, beginning with the back panel. The process starts with the scalloped edge, followed by the colorwork, and concludes with the shaping of the body and neck. A similar method is used to complete the front panel before the two pieces are joined together.
