The Lizzy Bandana is a triangle-shaped bandana featuring alternating fish and peerie motifs and a contrast i-cord tie. It’s a chunky accessory knit that’s perfect for transitional seasons and also a great introduction to flat colourwork! SIZES 1 size Long edge: approx. 62 cm or 24.5 in (including 5" ties) YARN Drops Air (50g = 164yards/150m) MC: approx. 15g CC: approx. 12g with contrast i-cord or Aino Novita (50g = 120yard/110m) MC: approx. 24g CC: approx. 19g with contrast i-cord GAUGE 16 sts × 20 rows = 10 cm / 4 in in fish pattern (flat colourwork), blocked. A swatch chart is provided in the pattern. NEEDLES 3.75mm (US 5) 32” circulars or size needed to obtain gauge Note: the gauge is loose, you may need to consider sizing up a needle size if you knit tightly. The Lizzy Bandana is cast on from the longest edge and knit flat with decreases to create a triangle shape while you work the colourwork chart. Once the chart is complete, an i-cord is knit across the cast-on edge with long ends for tying. The colourwork chart is worked back and forth in knit and purl. The pattern is repetitive, so if this is your first introduction to flat colourwork, I think it’s a relatively gentle one! Plus, it’s worth it to see the fish come to life :) Note: The colourwork is charted only. Please tag me in any bandanas you knit on instagram or tiktok @amyelizabethmakes <3
