I had been dreaming of a lighter version of the CERATA sweater for a long time. It took a lot of water under the bridge (meaning: quite a few yokes frogged!) before I realized that there was no need to reinvent the wheel... And here we are now! CERATA sweater light is shaped using **European shoulders construction**, seamlessly from the top down. Unlike the heavier version, it is much more subtle - especially when it comes to the details. They are there, but they do not shout. The shoulder line is delicate, allowing the stitch pattern to do all the talking. Moving the sleeves’ shaping to the upper part of the sleeve emphasizes the feminine silhouette, complemented by simple finishings. The pattern includes instructions for optional **horizontal bust darts**, as well as directions for **removing excess fabric under the bust** and **shortening or lengthening the sleeves** - along with plenty of tips throughout! **You can download a PDF preview with the most important information such as size guide, detailed measurements, yarn requirement, needles and notions in ENG and PL [here][1].** **Sizes:** CERATA sweater light was designed with a range of **positive ease between 15 - 25 cm** / 6 - 9.75 in / **across all sizes**. This means that the finished garment circumference at its widest point should be 15 - 25 cm / 6 - 9.75 in / larger than your full bust measurement. But - this is entirely up to your preference. If you prefer a less oversized fit, you can knit the sweater with less ease, although I would not recommend going below 10 cm / 4 in /. **Choose a size that most closely matches your upper bust circumference (measurement taken around your body just underneath your armpits).** Sizes 1 (2, 3, 4) 5 (6, 7, 8) are intended to fit an upper bust circumference of approx. 77.5 (85.75, 93.75, 102) 110 (118.25, 122.25, 134.5) cm / 30.5 (33.75, 37, 40.25) 43.25 (46.5, 48, 53) in /. The finished garment circumference for sizes 1 (2, 3, 4) 5 (6, 7, 8) is respectively 104 (112, 120, 132) 140 (148, 160, 168) cm / 41 (44, 47.25, 52) 55 (58.25, 63, 66.25 in /. **Please note that sizes (7, 8) weren't tested due to the lack of test knitters. If you wish to knit one of these, please let me know - I would to love to conduct a little test knit for you!** **Suggested yarn:** CERATA sweater light is knitted with two strands held together: one in Sport weight and one in Lace weight (e.g.: mohair-silk). 350 (350, 350-400, 400) 400-450 (450, 450-500, 500) g of Filcolana - Pernilla **held together with** 150 (150, 150-175, 175) 175-200 (200, 200, 200-225) g of Filcolana - Tilia. **Swatches and gauge:** Gauge, measured from swatches knitted both flat and in rounds, using pattern stitch on 4 mm /US 6/ needles, after washing and blocking: **10 x 10 cm /4 x 4 in/ = 20 sts x 32 rows/rnds** **Techniques:** * *Reverse Long Tail Cast On* (video tutorial included in the pattern) * *Backwards Loop Cast On* * Waffle stitch (described in detail) * *German Short Rows* (described in detail) * 1x1 ribbing (described in detail) * *Italian Bind Off* * Increasing methods: M1Rk, M1p, M1Lk, M1Lp (described in detail) * Decreasing methods: k2tog, ssk, ssp (described in detail) [1]: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1AKCTm7sXcTIayuG14MgLJdhYQjSez2GW?usp=sharing
