Lowarth Fingerless Mittens

These beautiful, fingerless mittens are an ideal wardrobe staple; keeping your hands warm and snug whilst at the same time allowing you to get on with your day. A nice long cuff up the arms adds an extra layer of comfort to the mittens, and ensures that you’ll be nice and toasty whatever you are doing. The mittens feature a rolled hem, held in place by a single row of purl stitches. Lowarth is the Cornish word for garden, a place I can often be found all year round. Cold hands can really spoil the time spent outside, so these mittens are perfect for chilly days when you want to get things done! Perfect for you and quickly knit up for a last minute gift. I can knit a pair of these over a few nights watching tv. Ideal for a little palette cleanser between those longer projects. Thank you as always for your support. x **Yarn** The Lowarth mittens are designed to use small amounts of yarn that you may have at home. They are designed to be knitted with a sport weight yarn although any yarn that gives the gauge will work nicely. The samples have been made as follows: *Option 1:* 1 x 50g sport weight yarn. The sample is knitted up in Sandnes Garn Alpakka in moss green. *Option 2:* 1 x 50g 4 ply fingering weight yarn held double with 1 x 50g ball of single ply mohair. The sample is knitted up using Sandnes Garn Tynn Peer Gynt in red and Drops Kid Silk in off white. **Gauge** 24 sts & 32 rows = 4”/10 cm (measured over stocking stitch, knitted in the round and after blocking). This gauge was achieved using size 3.5mm needles, but you may need to size up or down to achieve the desired gauge. **Needles and notions** Your preferred needles for working in the round (DPN or magic loop). Stitch markers. Tapestry needle.
