Narrow and Delicate

This 1884 edging has just 6 stitches to start and 4 pattern rows. It’s fast to memorize and to knit. I added 1 stitch between the slip stitches and knit stitches to keep all the yarn overs the same size. This narrow edging will readily curve around small circular doilies or it can be blocked straight. Gauge is up to you. I worked this edging in both #10 crochet cotton thread and #80 cotton tatting thread with U.S. #0000 (1.25mm) needles. The first lace point juts out from the cast-on edge. The easiest way to manage this is to fold it under to make a straight edge or add an optional tab of 6 rows to straighten that edge. That optional tab is included in the instructions. Skills needed: cast on, slip, knit, yarn over, k2tog and bind off. Gauge is **not ** important in this pattern. Any block-able yarn/thread will work. Make a swatch to check gauge and appearance.
