It features 4 colorwork motifs on the main body and an additional motif on the sleeves. The motifs are inspired by nerikomi, a traditional Japanese decorative ceramic technique that involves stacking, layering, and manipulating colored clays to create intricate patterns. The motifs used are all 16 stitches by 24 or 25 rows. As a result, the pattern also serves as a good base for swapping with custom motifs! **Construction** The Nerikomi Sweater is knit top-down using a raglan construction, with German short rows for shaping the back. The neckline is then picked up and knit for the hem.
