Notting Hill Cable Beanie

The Notting Hill Beanie is a beginner friendly cable knit hat complete with video tutorials for those new to cables. There are **two** different cable designs to choose from. **SIZES:** Baby (Toddler/Small Child) Large Child/Small Adult (Large Adult) **Baby** (To fit 35.5-40 cm / 14-16" head) **Toddler/Small Child** (To fit 43-48 cm / 17-19" head) **Large Child/Small Adult** (To fit 51-56 cm / 20-22" head) (Designer sample pictures knit up in this size) **Large Adult** (To fit 58-61 cm / 23-24" head) Note on fit: This hat is designed with approx 4.5-10 cm / 1.75-4" negative ease at the brim to ensure the ribbing and cables anchor ocmfortably around the brow without slipping. Measurements are taken flat and relaxed after wet blocking. **GAUGE:** 17 sts x 24 rows = 10 x 10 cm [4 x 4 inches] in 2x2 ribbing on 4 mm [US 6] needles **CABLE GAUGE:** 20 sts = 10 cm [4 inches] in cable pattern on 5 mm [US 8] needles Both taken after blocking. **NEEDLES:** 4mm [US 6] for brim 5mm [US 8] for main body. **Yarn Requirements:** To knit this hat, you will need approximately 75 (105) 150 (195) m / 82 (115) 164 (213) yds of Worsted/Aran weight yarn, **AND** the exact same meterage of lace-weight fluffy yarn. The hat is worked holding one strand of each together throughout. **Suggestion 1:** 1 (2) 2 (3) balls of Nepal by Drops (50 g = 75 m [82 yds]) held together with 1 (1) 2 (2) balls of Brushed Alpaca Silk by Drops (25 g = 140 m [153 yds]) or 1 (1) 1 (1) ball of Kid-Silk by Drops (25 g = 210 m [230 yds]). **Suggestion 2:** 1 (1) 2 (2) balls of Heavy Merino by Knitting for Olive (50 g = 125 m [137 yds]) held together with 1 (1) 1 (1) ball of Soft Silk Mohair by Knitting for Olive (25 g = 225 m [246 yds]). **SKILL LEVEL:** Begginer Friendly.
