(IRANG, pronounced “ee-rang,” refers to the raised ridges between furrows in cultivated fields in Korean.) This is a written pattern for a classic top-down raglan cardigan worked in the rib pattern on the fronts and back, with the sleeves worked in stockinette stitch. The neckline is shaped while working the raglan increases. After separating the sleeves from the body, the body and sleeves are worked separately. For the pockets, the pocket linings are worked first, then joined to the fronts as you work the pocket sections. Finally, the collar is worked, followed by the button bands, and the cardigan is finished by sewing on the buttons.
