You can style it as a layering lacy dress over a basic one – for everyday or special events. And it looks great as a relaxed bohemian tunic/robe over pants or jeans and tee or shirt. Plus, you can easily adapt the length into a chic, versatile vest. It features an airy crochet mesh pattern inspired by traditional fishing nets, and creating a soft “melting” drape and effortless breathability. The relaxed deep V-neck, both front and back, sits comfortably on the shoulders, creates a playful summer silhouette and allows easy layering for the colder days. The dress is framed with colorful trims along the neck, sleeves and bottom. The side slits give you plenty of freedom to move and complete the look. Plus, you can shape the waist with the matching belt with tassels or leave it loose and flowy. ✨ Construction: ------------- The dress is worked top-down, first right and left shoulder panels are worked flat separately. They are then joined to continue working in the round down to the side slits. From there, the front and back bottom panels are worked flat again. Lastly, the armholes, neckline and bottom edge are framed with the trim. Tester photos feature various sizes. ✨ Gauge: ------ The main body of the dress is worked with lemon peel stitch and the gauge is: 5 LP sts (a total of 5 sc + 5 dc) x 6 rows = 10 cm (4”) width, a 7 cm (2 3/4”) length when not stretched and 10 cm (4”) length when stretched slightly lengthwise, worked with 8.0 mm hook and one strand of sport weight yarn. ✨ Skill Level: Adventurous Beginner --------------------------------- The pattern contains only basic stitches: ch, sc, dc, few increases and decreases and not much counting. So, it is ideal for crocheters who have mastered the basics and wish to expand their skills or experienced crocheters who want an easy and relaxing project. The pattern includes detailed row-by-row instructions and a photo tutorial. **Note: The design calls for a very loose tension,** combining a thin (sport weight) yarn in one strand with a large (8 mm) hook. So, although the stitch pattern is simple and easy to follow, if you usually crochet with very tight tension, you may find this technique challenging. You can work it also with 3 colors only.
