Emo Kid Socks

The Emo Kid Socks are a slouchy fit sock with an alternating skull and checkerboard pattern that will have you feeling nostalgic for 2006. They’re perfect for spooky season… or all the time! YARN: Main Color (MC) 100 grams / 463 yards of fingering weight sock yarn Accent Color (AC) 20 grams / 93 yards of fingering weight sock yarn Sample pictured was knit in thyme and butter Classic Sock (75% SW Merino, 25% Nylon) in colors Alkaline and Coconut Cake. NEEDLES: US 1 (2.25mm) 9” circular needle AND / OR US 1 (2.25mm) double pointed needles The body of the sock is knit with a 9 inch circular needle, with double pointed needles used to work the toe decreases. You may choose to knit the entire sock with double points if you prefer, or use a 32 inch circular needle to work the sock in magic loop. Instructions given are for 9 inch circular and finishing with DPNs. NOTIONS: 3 stitch markers (it’s best if these do not match) Tapestry needle for weaving in ends GAUGE: Approximately 9 stitches per inch in stockinette. NOTE: Gauge is not incredibly important for this pattern as we will be increasing for the colorwork section and decreasing afterwards. Your tension will affect the fit of the sock, so take care to knit your colorwork section loose enough that the fabric will stretch to accommodate your foot! Pattern for adult socks, sizes Small, Medium, and Large. To find your size, measure the circumference at the widest part of your foot.
