However, if you’re already comfortable with crochet but have never tried colorwork crochet, don’t be afraid to give it a try! I learned tapestry crochet myself quite recently and found that I picked it up pretty quickly. If you’re willing to learn something new, you might surprise yourself too. The pattern explains the color-changing and yarn-carrying techniques used in this design, but it is not a complete beginner’s tapestry crochet course! FINISHED SIZE 58 stitches x 73 rows Appx 8 × 11.5 in (+ 4.3 in star tail) /20 cm × 29 cm (+ 11 cm the star tail) when worked in Fine/Sport weight yarn with a 2.2 mm hook. Your finished size will vary depending on your yarn weight, hook size, and tension. MATERIALS NEEDED ◾ Fine/Sport weight yarn (or at your choice) (black, white, yellow, light blue - 1 skein each) ◾ 2.2 mm crochet hook (or at your choice) ◾ Yarn needle ◾ Scissors ◾ Blocking supplies ◾ Wooden dowel/rod or a twig — get creative!
