Charis is a relaxed, top-down bucket hat with a garter stitch border and deep, Half Fisherman’s Rib brim. The interplay between contemporary shapes and traditional techniques creates its unique look. MATERIALS **Yarn:** Biches et Bûches Le Coton & Alpaca (66% GOTS Cotton and 34% Superfine Alpaca, 90 m / 98 yds – 50 g), 2 balls in the colourway Grey Brown. Or approx. 147 (196) yds / 135 (180) m of a similar blown, Aran-weight yarn. Alternative yarn suggestions are for example Soft by Isager or Baby Alpaca Blend by Copenhagen Fibers. **Needles:** US 8 / 5 mm and US 2 / 2.75 mm (for ribbing) circular needles, and US 8 / 5 mm DPNs (for crown). **Notions:** 3 removable stitch markers, 1 BOR marker, fine crafting wire (optional). CONSTRUCTION A small number of stitches are first cast on for the crown using the disappearing loop cast on. The crown is then shaped and worked in the round. The stockinette body of the hat ends with a garter stitch border before the brim. The brim is completed in Half-Fisherman’s Rib.
