It keeps your hand off the bowl, so your wine stays cold longer, and it catches the condensation that would otherwise run down the stem. Dress it up as a little pumpkin for fall or a snowman for the holidays, and nobody at the party has to wonder whose glass is whose. The cover is worked flat, side to side, in rows using my signature ***[Wheat Stitch™][2]***. The rows build the circumference and the 16 stitches set the height, so every size is the same 4" tall. A slip stitch column runs along one edge and becomes the bottom of the cover, and eyelets built into the top edge give you a spot to weave twine for a little bow. One master body is worked the same way every time, then seamed and finished with a single trim round. Swap the colors and the finishing touches to change the version: a Clay body with a Leaf trim and a crochet leaf for the pumpkin, or a White body with a Sparkle Red trim and three black buttons for the snowman. The pumpkin and snowman are just two ideas to get you started. You can make yours in any colors you want, so it works for any holiday or occasion, whether you're matching your home decor, a party theme, or your favorite football team. Four sizes run from 8" to 12" around, so you can match the glasses you actually own.
