The Loreen scarf is designed to use just one skein of cashmere. You can easily choose which size to knit based on the yardage of your yarn. Featuring a beautiful cable pattern, the scarf is completely reversible — the cables run along the right side, while the wrong side looks like neat ribbing. This means the scarf can sit beautifully around your neck or be knotted onto a bag strap, no matter which way it turns. * FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Length: 80 (120) cm / 32 (48)". Width: 8 (8) cm / 3.25 (3.25)". CHOOSING YOUR SIZE Size 1 can be tied around the neck. It can also be worn as a headband or tied onto a bag as a decoration. Size 2 goes around the neck once and can be tied in a bow on a bag or in the hair. Beige sample scarf in size 1, red scarf in size 2. MATERIALS Yarn Red scarf Gepard Garn Cashmere Kumula (100% cashmere, 145 m / 159 yds – 25 g). 25 g in the colourway Bright Red (330). Or 145 m / 160 yds of light fingering-weight yarn (size 2). Beige Scarf Gepard Garn Cashmere Klassik (100% cashmere, 105 m / 115 yds – 25 g). 25 g in the colourway Sand (142). Or 170 m / 185 yds of fingering-weight yarn (size 1). Other yarn options include Sandnes Garn Cashmere, Cardiff Cashmere Classic or any fingering-weight yarn. Needles 3 mm (US 2.5) DPNs. Notions 2 cable needles (or 2 safety pins), tapestry needle. GAUGE 32 sts x 32 rows = 1 chart pattern repeat = 8 cm x 12 cm / 3.25" x 4.75", after light blocking. Gauge is not critical, but it will affect yarn consumption. You can also use yarns of different weights with this pattern. CONSTRUCTION The scarf is worked from end to end, with the tips shaped by increases at the left edge and decreases at the right edge.
