Vilma Flower Top and Dress

These are the intermediate level PDF crochet patterns for the Vilma Flower Top and Dress. The patterns are written in English and in US terminology. The patterns are built around graphs as well as written instructions for the sizes XS-5XL. They include detailed instructions and pictures for the different techniques used and explains how to read the graphs for the colourwork. The top and dress are made from two top panels that are connected, and then the body panel is crocheted top down onto the connected top panels (so the length is adjustable). The top and dress patterns are very similar, but the dress has a slight A-shape while the top falls straight. The dress comes with extra graphs to have the option to make a longer version than shown in the sample. The patterns use mostly half double crochet and slip stitches. They also come with a lookbook of my testers’ joyful versions of the top and dress. The patterns are graded for sizes XS-5XL. The sizes thereby correspond to chest sizes 71-156 cm or 28-62 inches. The top/dress has between 12-20 cm (4.7-7.9”) of positive ease around the widest part of the chest depending on what size you choose. The gauge for the patterns in half double crochet stitches is 16 stitches x 12 rows (10x10 cm or 4x4 inches). If you don’t know how to make a gauge swatch, this is explained in the pattern. The materials needed are: • 3 mm crochet hook (or hook size to meet the gauge) • Fingering weight yarn (weight 1) in at least two colours - Some yarn suggestions: Adlibris Cotton 8/4 Garn, Björk by Viking Garn (50% bamboo and 50% cotton), Mandarin Petit by Sandnes Garn • Scissors • Measuring tape • Stitch markers • Tapestry needle - Have a look at the last two pictures for more information about the sizes and yardage!
