(Welcome to the) Polka Dot Parade I've gone a bit potty for polka dots this autumn and winter, so join me on my cosy spotty journey! **Construction:** Knit brim up, working in the round, starting with a 2x2 tubular cast on, a folded ribbed brim is worked in2x2 rib. The main body of the hat is made using 2-colour stranded colourwork following a charted stitch pattern to create the polka dot fabric tube which is closed at the crown using the CDD decrease method. Colourwork section is fully charted. **Sizes**: Newborn, Baby, Toddler, Child (Adult S/M, Adult L) **Measurements:** Circumference: Approx 36, 41, 46, 48 (53, 58,) cm / 14, 16, 18, 19 (21, 23,)” Measurements within the pattern are given in both metric and imperial. **Yarn:** DK Merino yarn. You will require a main colour with 1 contrast colours to make the cover sample. Instructions giving within the pattern on how to make scrappy versions. Samples made using: DK yarn – Samples made in Drops Lima (100m/50g) and Yarnsmiths Superwash Merino (110m/50g) **Yarn Amounts:** MC approx. – 45, 50, 60, 65 (70, 80) g / 90, 100, 120, 130 (140, 160) m 1, 1, 2, 2 (2, 2) x 50g ball CC approx. – 11, 12, 14, 18 (19, 24) g / 21, 24, 27, 36 (38, 48) m 1, 1, 1, 1 (1, 1) x 50g ball CC for scrappy version approx. - 3, 3, 4, 4 (4, 4) g per row of polka dots. (Yarn amounts have been calculated to yarns that are 50g/100m) Given yarn amounts are to make one hat. **Needles:** 3.5mm and 4.mm/ size 4 and size 6 (40cm for newborn to child sizes, 60cm for adult sizes) circular needles, or needles to obtain gauge. Use magic loop or DPNs for crown if preferred. **Gauge:** 23sts x 25rounds = 10x10cm / 4x4 inches in stockinette stitch colourwork in the round, blocked.
