The pattern is tech edited and test knitted. Unfortunatly there are only a very few testers for the larger sizes, 7-11- if you planing to knit one of these sizes please send me a short message and I am happy to send you the pattern for free. The LUISE top is a relaxed comfy tank top, fitted around the shoulders to create a flattering silhouette. Its garter stitch stripes are fun to knit, and you can make the entire body using knit stitches only (with an option to work flat instead of in the round), which is a real plus if you are not a fan of purl stitches. The possibilities for color combinations are endless. **There is the option to add a bit more length to the armholes and neck opening to make a slipover / layering piece out of it.** Starting with the upper back, you work short rows to create the shoulder lines. The technique used is a slight variation on classic German short rows to create perfectly smooth stripes. When the armhole shaping on the back is complete, you place the stitches on hold and pick up new stitches for the front panels. After adding increases for the neckline, you join both panels and work the front as one piece, including increases for armhole shaping. Then you join front and back and work the body in the round (or you can work it flat and join the open side later; this way, you only need to work knit stitches for the body). Before finishing the body (to help determine your preferred length), you pick up stitches around the armholes and neckline and work garter stitch edges. Please share your knits on social media. It’s recommended to choose a size within the range of 5–15 cm (2–6 inches) of positive ease around the bust. Sample size 3 (97 cm (38.25 inches)) is shown on an 86 cm (33.75 inches) bust circumference (with 11 cm (4.25inches) of positive ease). **NEEDLES** Circular needles to obtain gauge; recommended needle sizes: 3.5 mm (US 4) with a length of at least 80 cm (32 inches) or more for larger sizes and 3 mm (US 2.5) with a length of 60 cm (24 inches) or more to work the neckband and armhole edging (using the Magic Loop method). **GAUGE** 20 sts x 36 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 inches) on 3.5 mm (US 4) needle in garter stitch, blocked **YARN** Worsted-weight (or DK-weight) yarn Sandnes Garn Line (worsted; 53% cotton, 33% viscose, 14% linen; 110 m (120 yds) per 50 g) in 3820 pearl grey (color A) and 6080 slate (color B) **METERS NEEDED** For an average side length of around 30 cm, you need approx. 230 (250 / 270 / 300 / 320 / 330) (350 / 380 / 400 / 430 / 460) m (250 (270 / 290 / 330 / 350 / 360) (380 / 410 / 440 / 470 / 500) yds **of color A** and approx. 290 (310 / 330 / 370 / 390 / 410) (430 / 470 / 490 / 520 / 570) m (320 (340 / 360 / 400 / 430 / 450) (470 / 510 / 530 / 570 / 620) yds) **of color B** The amount stated is calculated generously to have enough in hand for swatching and adjustments.
