Country Waffles Vest

Whether worn over a turtleneck, oxford, tee, or camisole, or under a cardigan, blazer, or down jacket, this vest will add texture and interest to your outfits all year long. The two texture patterns are visually striking yet easy to knit, and the construction is seamless. The vest is worked in one piece from the bottom up, divided at the underarms. Short rows are used for shoulder shaping, with 3 needle BO for shoulder seams. Stitches are picked up for the garter stitch front bands, neck bands, and armhole edgings. Pattern is 6 pages long and has been test knit and professionally tech edited to be clear and free of errors. **Sizes:** Women’s Sizes: S (M, L) (1X, 2X, 3X). Shown in size M with length shortened by 3/4 in/ 2 cm (in waffle stitch section) for a 5 ft/ 152.5 cm tall model. **Finished Measurements:** **Finished bust when buttoned:** 36 (40, 44) (48, 52, 56) in/ 91.5 (101.5, 112) (122, 132, 142) cm. Designed to fit with approximately 2 - 4 in/ 5 - 10 cm of positive ease. Choose a size slightly larger than your body bust measurement. **Length** (adjustable): 21 (22, 22.5) (23, 23.5, 24) in/ 53.5 (56, 57) (58.5, 59.5, 61) cm. Longer lengths will take more yardage, shorter lengths less. **Gauge:** 16.5 sts and 29 rows/ 4 in/ 10 cm over Garter Rib Pattern (as given on pattern page 2). 18 sts and 29 rows/ 4 in/ 10 cm over Waffle Stitch Pattern (as given on pattern page 2).
 **What You Need:** * Peace Fleece (75% wool 25% mohair, 200 yds/ 4 oz skein); color: “Kamchattka Sea Moss”; 3 (4, 4) (4, 5, 5) skeins. OR 588 (675, 750) (813, 888, 950) yds/ 538 (617, 686) (743, 812, 869) m of a similar aran weight or heavy worsted weight yarn. * One circular needle minimum length 32 (32, 32) (40, 40, 40) in/ 80 (80, 80) (100, 100, 100) cm ***in size required to obtain gauge***. I used US #6/ 4.0 mm. You may need a size or two above or below that. * One 24 in/ 60 cm circular needle in same size as above for armhole bands. * An extra needle of any type in same size as above to work the three needle BO. * Optional: Smaller length circular or straight needles in same size as above for the areas with fewer sts. * Buttons of choice. I used six 3/4 in/ 20mm buttons. * One stitch holder, or scrap yarn * Tapestry needle to weave in ends **Pattern Notes:** The vest is worked in one piece from the bottom up, divided at the underarms.
