Nimue

In the musical Camelot, Nimue is a fairy-like character that places the wizard, Merlyn, under an enchantment and convinces him to leave the kingdom. In other versions of Arthurian legends, the Lady of the Lake is known as Nimue. In the two productions of Camelot that I was involved in (once as house manager, once in the pit orchestra), Nimue never appeared on stage, she was just a mysterious, off-stage voice. However, in other productions she does appear on stage, typically in beautiful, flowing costumes. I used Nimue as my inspiration for this project as I imagined her wearing a cape like this in its brilliant jewel tones and fancy brooch-like button. This project uses a size J hook and three colors of worsted weight yarn, 420 yards each of colors 1 and 2, and 630 of color 3.
