도안 상세 설명 구글번역기로 번역하기
This design celebrates still water with a design representing avanyu, the water snake of the Pueblo peoples, the spiritual guardian of water, lightning and storms. The avanyu live in springs, rivers and ground water, carrying life as well as the power to cause floods and droughts. Two pairs of avanyu flank a double helix, symbolizing life on earth in its continuous cycle of creation and destruction, and the entwined snakes of the caduceus and kundalini energy.
This is knit in a two-color slip-stitch design on a ridged garter background in a 4-row pattern. For a larger stole, the pattern can be knit in DK or worsted weight yarn; adjust the needle size to get a pleasing fabric. Two 100-gram hanks of each color will be needed in DK or worsted to get the length of the fingering weight version.
Finished size: After blocking, width about 13” and length about 70.”
Gauge: About 20 st and 32 rows is 4” for unblocked stockinette stitch.
Needles: 24” circular or straight size 6 needles
Yarn and Yardage: One 100 g/ 4 oz hank in each of two colors (MC and CC) in fingering weight yarn. The wrap is shown in Vortex Yarns Mandala (100% merino, non-superwash) fingering weight yarn in colors Larch (MC, green) and Morning Glory (CC, deep blue). You can find these yarns at www.vortexyarns.com.
