Frogs on the Pond Socks

With motifs of cheerful frogs, lily pads, and rippling waters, these colorwork socks will bring a miniature pond with you wherever you go. The socks are knitted top-down from cuff to toe, beginning with a folded picot cuff and continuing with stranded colorwork in the round. (Most of the colorwork rows require you to knit with 2 colors at a time, though a few sections require you to knit with 3 colors at a time.) The short row heel is worked using a wrap-and-turn method. Stranded colorwork continues along the foot of the sock down to the toe, which is shaped by decreases and then grafted together. Additional details are added at the end with duplicate stitch. **Materials** *Needles:* * 2.5 mm (US 1.5) circular needles * 2 mm (US 0) circular needles Note: This pattern was designed to be knitted in the round on mini circular needles (approximately 23 cm / 9 inches in length) and 80 cm circular needles using the magic loop technique and instructions are written accordingly, but feel free to adjust for magic loop only or DPNs if that is your preference. If you are using mini circulars, keep in mind that you will need to switch to magic loop or DPNs when reaching the toe section. *Yarn:* This pattern was designed and knitted with a variety of yarns: Katia Äiti Socks in Emerald (Teal), Lang Yarns Jawoll Superwash in Mint (Light Green), Gründl Hot Socks Uni in Weiß (White) and Tannengrün (Dark Green), and Gründl Hot Socks Merino in Rosé (Pink). The following quantities are required: * Teal: 34 g / 136 m / 149 yds (40 g / 160 m / 175 yds, 47 g / 188 m / 206 yds) * White: 14 g / 59 m / 65 yds (16 g / 68 m / 75 yds, 20 g / 84 m / 92 yds) * Light Green: 7 g / 30 m / 33 yds (8 g / 34 m / 38 yds, 10 g / 42 m / 46 yds) * Dark Green: 4 g / 17 m / 19 yds (4 g / 17 m / 19 yds, 5 g / 21 m / 23 yds) * Pink: 2 g / 8 m / 9 yds (2 g / 8 m / 9 yds, 3 g / 12 m / 14 yds) In addition to these yarns, the pattern also requires approximately 1 m / 1 yd of fingering weight scrap yarn in Black for duplicate stitching.
